It’s no secret.
None at all.
I told you a while back that I had finished the novella
Don’t Come Around Here No More – A Tale
Of Sardis County, and that I had sent it to a well-known book publisher
that is starting some new imprints for their digital activities.
I’m also writing Junior’s
Farm – A Tale Of Sardis County. While
it takes place in Sardis County, this one is not supernatural. It introduces several characters that will
show up in a lot of the Sardis County stories, in various appearances, from
cameos to full stories about them. The
establishment of these characters will lend a small-town feel to these stories…and,
in Sardis County, anything can
happen!
Nor is this story about magic…at least, not the kind
you’re thinking.
I’m writing this one to do all of that, and to
specifically submit to that same well-known book publishing firm.
Junior’s
Farm
is a mostly an American romance novel. There's your clue.
Before you laugh, I say to you: Why not?
A romance is like any other story. It has characters that face adversity, maybe
overcome it, and fall in love along the way.
Of course, mine are a bit different, and the adversity
may be a little…unusual. And, with a
little luck, the end of the adversity might not be what you’re expecting.
Oh, and it sets up the fact that Sardis County, and the
city of Perry, are about six hours from the city. An unnamed
city in the novel.
Probably, the same city that Nicholas Turner and
Justice Security run around in.
Close enough.
Will the security crew show up in Sardis County? I’m not saying yes…or no. But, the Sardis County slogan is: Where
YOU Make The Magic!
What do you think?
